We’ve been tempted several times to do an exhibition on children’s portraits, but we were always afraid it would be too « pretty ». Our last week’s acquisition made us think about it again.
This bronze portrait relief of a boy is by Agathon Leonard (1841-1923), the Belgian Art Nouveau sculptor mostly known for his series of Dancers.
Our reserve might be confirmed : the « houpette » is very cute indeed.
