Things tend to come upon us in series…
We haven’t been buying much the last two weeks, but by coincidence we came across -in different locations- two works by the Franco-Swiss Romantic sculptor : James Pradier (1790 – 1852).
One is a bronze of La Pêche that we had seen exposed in the Musees d’Art et d’Histoire in Geneva last month, the other is a pretty plaster relief (signed and dated 1846) of a young boy who might be his son, John at the age of ten.
Let’s hope we find a third one next week.
